About this project

Their cause

Agape Children’s Museum's Empower Art Program serves as a model for encouraging the appreciation and understanding of the transformative power of art among underserved families through a curriculum of hands-on learning experiences for families of diverse ages and backgrounds.

How they'll use their space

Agape Children’s Museum’s Empower Art is a community-based family support model designed to help families to bond, practice positive parenting strategies, and forge new family memories through shared creative experiences. It is a model that uses a natural community setting to support families who are most often served in isolation. Integration of community and museum resources through joint programming improves skills learned in art integration and parenting empowerment experiences can be put into practice, and families receive the healing benefits of being part of the larger cultural continuum.

What is Space for Change?

Peerspace is on a mission to bring people together. We believe it is impossible to achieve that goal unless we also fight for equality and access to resources in the communities we serve.

Having a space to gather, create, and exchange ideas is an important part of any movement. In order to magnify voices that are often quieted, Peerspace will sponsor venues for people who challenge prejudice and fight for social justice and equality.

Each quarter, we will sponsor space for three projects that are relevant to our community. These projects can range from fundraisers and educational initiatives to art exhibits and photo series.
