The cause I’m working on is mental health in women with Postpartum Depression. I am connected to this project because I experienced PPD when I had my son. My son was born one and a half pounds and spent almost 3 months in the NICU. The toll of his fragile health and the sudden transition into motherhood was a struggle. This project means so much to me and is personal. If I help just one woman not feel so isolated, and valid in their feelings, I would have fulfilled my purpose.
I will use this space to film my project. I currently need a location. I have my cast and crew already. I need a safe space to shoot. This is my first project as a filmmaker and I’m excited to be able to tell this story and help others.
Peerspace is on a mission to bring people together. We believe it is impossible to achieve that goal unless we also fight for equality and access to resources in the communities we serve.
Having a space to gather, create, and exchange ideas is an important part of any movement. In order to magnify voices that are often quieted, Peerspace will sponsor venues for people who challenge prejudice and fight for social justice and equality.
Each quarter, we will sponsor space for three projects that are relevant to our community. These projects can range from fundraisers and educational initiatives to art exhibits and photo series.
