I'm always working to shed light on educating people on the perspective of the black man ,esp the black gay man thru dance and/or film. I feel as tho we are some of the most misunderstood people on the planet. I'm very passionate about painting different pics for us
I'm currently working on a short film which is about the conversation of a young teen confronting his lover about contracting HIV from him. It's such a taboo topic , that's kinda frowned upon and not discussed out loud. I plan on opening that wound in hopes we can see it for what it really is.REALITY. This opportunity could definitely help me with finding a great location for the project to be filmed in.
Peerspace is on a mission to bring people together. We believe it is impossible to achieve that goal unless we also fight for equality and access to resources in the communities we serve.
Having a space to gather, create, and exchange ideas is an important part of any movement. In order to magnify voices that are often quieted, Peerspace will sponsor venues for people who challenge prejudice and fight for social justice and equality.
Each quarter, we will sponsor space for three projects that are relevant to our community. These projects can range from fundraisers and educational initiatives to art exhibits and photo series.
