The current project that I am working on and submitting is a project called The Rotunda. It is a talk show/podcast hybrid in which a cast of millennials discuss a variety of topics and ideas that they are faced with in society today. These topics range from general conversations such as dating, sexuality, anime, and relationships: to topics that have more depth and are less spoken on such as generational trauma, the exposure of traveling, the identity of African Americans in the U.S. and the modern college education. Along with many other topics the main goal of this show is to not only educate future generations with the knowledge that has been learned by our mistakes or successes, but to also share stories that can relatable with unrepresented people in media, tv, and film. I am directing and producing this project to give everyone a voice and help shine a light on the many talented, educated and gifted people that have joined this project and to also have tons of fun while filming.
I will be utilizing the space to house the filming of many episodes of the show. The environment and energy in the space is extremely important so that everyone not only feels comfortable to have these conversations but also fits the homelike aesthetic we want this show to have.
Peerspace is on a mission to bring people together. We believe it is impossible to achieve that goal unless we also fight for equality and access to resources in the communities we serve.
Having a space to gather, create, and exchange ideas is an important part of any movement. In order to magnify voices that are often quieted, Peerspace will sponsor venues for people who challenge prejudice and fight for social justice and equality.
Each quarter, we will sponsor space for three projects that are relevant to our community. These projects can range from fundraisers and educational initiatives to art exhibits and photo series.
