About this project

Their cause

The Black Male EDquity Network is examining topics of Social Justice that consequently impacts those within minoritized groups. Poverty has been identified as a major barrier for Black, Brown, and Indigenous people to thrive in the Louisville community. Youth Activism can play a major role as we continue to think about how to bring about change. Collectively, we will discuss other issues that we are passionate about, while learning how to utilize our artistic skill set that will make the world around us a better place to call home. In doing so, we will see social problems as opportunities, how to gain access to different communal resources and how to present our ideas to gain community support.

How they'll use their space

An organized panel discussion and social hour will feature community change agents from both profit and non-profit sectors to create a plan of action that will assist in dismantling the systematic oppression;specifically in secondary education.

What is Space for Change?

Peerspace is on a mission to bring people together. We believe it is impossible to achieve that goal unless we also fight for equality and access to resources in the communities we serve.

Having a space to gather, create, and exchange ideas is an important part of any movement. In order to magnify voices that are often quieted, Peerspace will sponsor venues for people who challenge prejudice and fight for social justice and equality.

Each quarter, we will sponsor space for three projects that are relevant to our community. These projects can range from fundraisers and educational initiatives to art exhibits and photo series.
