Outside of hosting my space for Photography and Videography studio rentals, I do alot more. The Curated Series is collection if dinners and events for entrepreneurs of color to have a 'round table' experience and speak with other successful business owners, face to face who have words of wisdom to offer. This is a less formal way of breaking the ice for minority owned small businesses, sharing and bouncing around ideas to expand, but also expressing ideas of hardship and challenges in their fields. Attendees get a unique opportunity at expressing their triumphs and successes but also their challenges and hardships when running a business. Typically there is one keynote speaker who shares their story with the attendees, which includes the good, the bad, and the ugly of their experiences. This gives attendees the chance to lower their expectations, lower their guard down, and understand the process of creating and sustaining a business in it's entirety.
I would use the space to host a more impactful curated dinner session, tailored more towards relevant world events and happenings (recent political change, applying for business grants/loans, protecting your business assets, etc.).
Peerspace is on a mission to bring people together. We believe it is impossible to achieve that goal unless we also fight for equality and access to resources in the communities we serve.
Having a space to gather, create, and exchange ideas is an important part of any movement. In order to magnify voices that are often quieted, Peerspace will sponsor venues for people who challenge prejudice and fight for social justice and equality.
Each quarter, we will sponsor space for three projects that are relevant to our community. These projects can range from fundraisers and educational initiatives to art exhibits and photo series.
