We are building a community for young diasporan creatives to showcase their talent, find safe spaces, and destigmatize topics around mental health, identity, sexual freedom, religion, and culture. We plan on doing this by showcasing creative talents, art, culture, change-makers, and critical thought within internationals living in the diaspora through interviews, videos, podcasts, essays, events, poems, and art through our online magazine.Hestah was created because current solutions aren't working. Current solutions don’t work because they don’t allow people from the diaspora to just be, they tend to take a more generic approach instead of providing creative freedom and allowing our customers to simply exist (and have fun), without explanationHestah •Offers a unified platform (our website) •Allows people's voices to be heard and ideas to be shared •Creates inclusivity to all cultural groups and identities within those cultures while many platforms are dedicated to just one culture or group •Understands that our world is no longer filled with simplistic personalities; we're now complex individuals with mixed identities due to exposure and the technology age we are entering. •Is enlightening our generation about the importance of cultural relativism in exciting and unique ways •Understands that rituals, memories, and stories cannot replace a physical community. However, we hope that diasporans can find connectedness and enlightenment
We plan on using the space for shoots, videos & podcast recording that will be featured in our fifth magazine issue.
Peerspace is on a mission to bring people together. We believe it is impossible to achieve that goal unless we also fight for equality and access to resources in the communities we serve.
Having a space to gather, create, and exchange ideas is an important part of any movement. In order to magnify voices that are often quieted, Peerspace will sponsor venues for people who challenge prejudice and fight for social justice and equality.
Each quarter, we will sponsor space for three projects that are relevant to our community. These projects can range from fundraisers and educational initiatives to art exhibits and photo series.
