If I ruled the world...

About this project

Their cause

The world is not the same. While we as adults know it's always changing, youth now more than ever, are learning the fragility of the world around them and making thier voices known. As the mother of an 8 year old I'm always curious further with how the young ones feel too. We all know how remarkably wise children can be. A lot of complicated things are happening in the US and worldwide COVID 19, food insecurities, social justice issues; these are multigenerational problems that can’t be solved by our generation alone. I’d like to look to the next and see what they think, how they’d move forward, what they’d change, if they ruled the world.

How they'll use their space

The space will be used to take portraits for a future photo book featuring the faces and thoughts of the black children ages 6-14 in Milwaukee, WI.

What is Space for Change?

Peerspace is on a mission to bring people together. We believe it is impossible to achieve that goal unless we also fight for equality and access to resources in the communities we serve.

Having a space to gather, create, and exchange ideas is an important part of any movement. In order to magnify voices that are often quieted, Peerspace will sponsor venues for people who challenge prejudice and fight for social justice and equality.

Each quarter, we will sponsor space for three projects that are relevant to our community. These projects can range from fundraisers and educational initiatives to art exhibits and photo series.
