Our organization is dedicated towards enhancing the lives of students of color through career development, scholarship and mentorship/college retention. We envision a community that prioritizes the importance of educational attainment. One that takes necessary steps to ensure that positive educational outcomes are accessible to all students regardless of socioeconomic circumstances. We aim to close the achievement gap by ensuring that postsecondary education is a viable option, giving students the potential to succeed. In 2021 we expect to expand our applicant pool and also dedicate a grant to students entering a vocational/trade program.
Our annual F.O.E Show (Family Over Everything) is a showcase of local talent consisting of both visual and performing artists and designers in NYC. Our 2019 Showcase included over 200 attendees, 8 performing artists, 3 visual artists and 4 apparel/accessory designers. 100% of all ticket sales go towards scholarships for students of color in underserved neighborhoods.
Peerspace is on a mission to bring people together. We believe it is impossible to achieve that goal unless we also fight for equality and access to resources in the communities we serve.
Having a space to gather, create, and exchange ideas is an important part of any movement. In order to magnify voices that are often quieted, Peerspace will sponsor venues for people who challenge prejudice and fight for social justice and equality.
Each quarter, we will sponsor space for three projects that are relevant to our community. These projects can range from fundraisers and educational initiatives to art exhibits and photo series.
