I am working toward changing the narrative of autism. My hope is to encourage individuals to find the beauty in living with the disorder. By doing so, I created a logo to amplify the beauty of the characteristics that me and my son discovered on our journey. He enhanced my ability to love; have compassion; practice patience; embrace uniqueness and show empathy. My personal 25 years of experience has allowed me the ability and knowledge to encourage individuals living with autism that there is a silver lining in every cloud.
I want to host a charity event and use it as a platform to educate, inform, and inspire individuals about the disorder in a nice relaxed setting. The invited guest will obtain written information and resources on autism. There will be a couple of speakers, including me, that will share first hand knowledge on the disorder, over a light meal and drinks. A percentage of the revenue generated from the autism paraphernalia and event will go towards helping to raise awareness and resources in underrepresented communities.
Peerspace is on a mission to bring people together. We believe it is impossible to achieve that goal unless we also fight for equality and access to resources in the communities we serve.
Having a space to gather, create, and exchange ideas is an important part of any movement. In order to magnify voices that are often quieted, Peerspace will sponsor venues for people who challenge prejudice and fight for social justice and equality.
Each quarter, we will sponsor space for three projects that are relevant to our community. These projects can range from fundraisers and educational initiatives to art exhibits and photo series.
