I am a full spectrum doula that works with single birthing people or with birthing couples, people who have experienced an abortion or miscarriage, who needs fertility support, whoa has had their baby but need parenting support, and people who need private support. I want to aim mainly towards the Black, Brown, and LGBTQ+ community from low income to high income. I want to bring awareness to these birthing families that they have rights and options to have the best birthing experience or the best postpartum experience.
I will use the space by holding dance sessions for single birthing people, single parent, and couples with baby as well. I want to hold birthing support groups with birthing people that are expecting that want to come and ask questions, talk about their fears, do some movements, and learn different techniques that can help them through labor and delivery. I also want to hold space for the single birthing people to come and do the same-thing, but learning how to do it on their own if they don’t have support. I also want to use the space for the single parent who has already had their kid, whether it’s mom or dad, and can come into a space were they can get support and talk openly and learn some parenting skills for when they are at home.
Peerspace is on a mission to bring people together. We believe it is impossible to achieve that goal unless we also fight for equality and access to resources in the communities we serve.
Having a space to gather, create, and exchange ideas is an important part of any movement. In order to magnify voices that are often quieted, Peerspace will sponsor venues for people who challenge prejudice and fight for social justice and equality.
Each quarter, we will sponsor space for three projects that are relevant to our community. These projects can range from fundraisers and educational initiatives to art exhibits and photo series.
