About this project

Their cause

At Restore More we are dedicated to creating spaces and places of education, encouragement, and overall social and emotional wellness for all! The children’s healing circle directly aligns with our mission, by establishing a safe environment for children to talk about their worries, concerns, and healing. Students have faced quite the year with being in virtual school and losing family members so we want to offer an opportunity and space to have them process in community. We’d use our Restorative Circle skills to create a safe space for students to process with other kids their age, reminding them they aren’t alone. I am connected, because I am the co-founder of the organization.

How they'll use their space

If we won, Restore More’s will be using this space to create a healing circle for children ages 12-15. This healing circle will specifically dedicate time to hearing students and their concerns and worries related to COVID-19 and the changes in their lives associated with it. Students in Georgia have been struggling with mental health pre-covid, so we know issues have only been exacerbated. We will also have trained mental health professionals on hand.

What is Space for Change?

Peerspace is on a mission to bring people together. We believe it is impossible to achieve that goal unless we also fight for equality and access to resources in the communities we serve.

Having a space to gather, create, and exchange ideas is an important part of any movement. In order to magnify voices that are often quieted, Peerspace will sponsor venues for people who challenge prejudice and fight for social justice and equality.

Each quarter, we will sponsor space for three projects that are relevant to our community. These projects can range from fundraisers and educational initiatives to art exhibits and photo series.
