About this project

Their cause

The Project Tha Goddess would like to propose is to write a song and promote and discuss the topics of that song and issues related to Women and International Women’s Day. The artist collaborators ideally would be powerful creative women/genders who identify as women of various backgrounds and abilities. It is an inclusive project with an all female/female identifying cast! The song will be based on the theme #Seen, Heard & On Fire! Recognising that there are many ways to stand up as a woman and that those who are behind the scenes are also major #fire-starters! and #on fire! and that we stand together to have our voices and expressions heard and witnessed to promote change and empowerment and to challenge old views and opposition. Key objectives for the collaboration are to connect with like minded female creatives & behind the scenes personnel to create a song to showcase the values of International Women’s Day within the theme chosen. To spur a discussion around this topic & theme with panel in organisations and on forums to spread light on issues to address and action steps to take. To extend to discuss laws in relation to crimes against women for example in relation to topics such as new and updated sentencing for crimes against female bodies to promote greater respect for womenTha Goddess will curate the project and gather like minded individuals to create a song that could be the female answer to YMCA to celebrate womanhood. Female producers and those in the field will be sought to promote the song, topics & themes.

How they'll use their space

Tha Goddess, collaborators and friends will come together at premium Peerspace locations to put these topics on the forefront of people’s minds and hearts to create real change and empowerment that’s needed. We will rehearse the song created together at Peerspace and film the music video there as well as hold the panel discussion with a Covid Safe audience on the topics mentioned which will also be filmed for various channels and promotion. Covid safety will be followed in the spaces.

What is Space for Change?

Peerspace is on a mission to bring people together. We believe it is impossible to achieve that goal unless we also fight for equality and access to resources in the communities we serve.

Having a space to gather, create, and exchange ideas is an important part of any movement. In order to magnify voices that are often quieted, Peerspace will sponsor venues for people who challenge prejudice and fight for social justice and equality.

Each quarter, we will sponsor space for three projects that are relevant to our community. These projects can range from fundraisers and educational initiatives to art exhibits and photo series.
