About this project

Their cause

Her Place Is In is an organization dedicated to social action through art. Focused on building community, celebrating diversity and empowering femininity, we are committed to sharing stories, advancing social education, and creating spaces for conversations that lead to real change. In our initial phases, our main focus has been photoshoots and art shows centered on themes that mattered to us and were aligned with our values. When the pandemic hit, we shifted for a time to online courses taught by community leaders, covering things like mental health, art, small-business info, and wellness. Our award-winning work has been picked up by various platforms including Dove, Feminist, NatGeoYourShot, Shit You Should Care About, and has spread throughout the globe. As we all know, however, attention does not ensure financial support. We're working on some exciting projects this year, but we are still very much in the growing phase of our organization and could use any support that comes our way :)

How they'll use their space

We will use the space to host our fourth group photoshoot, keeping in mind that it will need to look a bit differently now that we are operating in a world that is still navigating COVID-19.

What is Space for Change?

Peerspace is on a mission to bring people together. We believe it is impossible to achieve that goal unless we also fight for equality and access to resources in the communities we serve.

Having a space to gather, create, and exchange ideas is an important part of any movement. In order to magnify voices that are often quieted, Peerspace will sponsor venues for people who challenge prejudice and fight for social justice and equality.

Each quarter, we will sponsor space for three projects that are relevant to our community. These projects can range from fundraisers and educational initiatives to art exhibits and photo series.
