I am working on Trans Representation in the media, but not the typical stories-I want to tap into an aspect that everyone overlooks and doesn't realize affects all of us. Men, women, non-fem identifying, etc. This aspect being Femininity and the "performance" of it. I want to do a project centered around the dichotomy of the two with trans women, preferably darkskin.
I am a photographer and although the world can be used as a backdrop, it doesn't always fit, and not having access to spaces to bring projects to life really hinders the creation process. This space will allow me to produce and create on a larger scale than I've ever been able to do before.
Peerspace is on a mission to bring people together. We believe it is impossible to achieve that goal unless we also fight for equality and access to resources in the communities we serve.
Having a space to gather, create, and exchange ideas is an important part of any movement. In order to magnify voices that are often quieted, Peerspace will sponsor venues for people who challenge prejudice and fight for social justice and equality.
Each quarter, we will sponsor space for three projects that are relevant to our community. These projects can range from fundraisers and educational initiatives to art exhibits and photo series.
