My name is Anthony Parker, President of Rise with a Purpose and Artistic partner with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Public schools in Baltimore City do not include music classes in their academic curriculum. To combat this shortfall, Rise with a Purpose would like to provide the underserved youth of Baltimore and abroad a lasting place to pursue music. Studies have proven children receiving musical instruction have increased verbal intelligence. The Music for the Masses Academy will offer the fundamentals of song creation, keyboard, drums, guitar, dance choreography, recording, production, mixing-mastering, performing, classical music instruction with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and music business master classes. We will actively manage its global partnerships to foster domestic and international academic teams for our young aspiring musicians. Students will not merely learn from American educators, but teachers from Ghana, Panama, Angola and more will offer music classes native to their culture. Music is a universal language, so we want to emphasize the importance of learning music from domestic and foreign educators. All music classes, workshops and concerts have the dual ability of an in-person or virtual experience. A significant investment in camera equipment, live streaming software, mobile stage and lights are important in delivering pristine audio and video to students living in other states and abroad.
We are currently partnered with doTERRA Wellness for a Match Campaign. To date we have raised $10,780 of our $15,000 goal. doTERRA will then match our fundraising efforts for a total of $30,000. Donations will be used to provide an after-school facility, instruments and accessories, studio recording equipment, stipends for teachers and technology for virtual instruction. The use of a peerspace facility will allow us to run a limited in-person and a worldwide broadcast of a virtual fundraiser.
Peerspace is on a mission to bring people together. We believe it is impossible to achieve that goal unless we also fight for equality and access to resources in the communities we serve.
Having a space to gather, create, and exchange ideas is an important part of any movement. In order to magnify voices that are often quieted, Peerspace will sponsor venues for people who challenge prejudice and fight for social justice and equality.
Each quarter, we will sponsor space for three projects that are relevant to our community. These projects can range from fundraisers and educational initiatives to art exhibits and photo series.
